Overview
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s own Jake Fridkis opens the evening with Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice, performing the enchanting Minuet & Dance of the Blessed Spirits, a work that highlights the flute’s lyrical beauty and grace. Acclaimed pianist Inon Barnatan then joins the orchestra for Beethoven’s radiant Fourth Piano Concerto, a piece brimming with intimacy and invention. To bring the night to a powerful close, Music Director Robert Spano conducts Rachmaninoff’s sweeping Symphony No. 2, a lush and emotional journey that showcases the orchestra in full brilliance.
