Wing Yan Alison Kwok joined the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in 2026. Before moving to Texas, Alison was a violin fellow at the New World Symphony in Miami Beach. In recent years, she had served as a guest player with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. She had also served as the assistant concertmaster of the Canton Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Gerhardt Zimmermann. 

Over the years, Alison was selected to play in masterclasses led by the likes of Leonidas Kavakos and Takako Nishizaki, and participated in festivals such as the Pacific Music Festival, the National Orchestral Institute (NOI), and the Aspen Music Festival. Recently, she performed as concertmaster in the closing concert at NOI under the baton of Marin Alsop in the summer of 2022. She was also chosen to play in side-by-side concerts with the Cleveland Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. 

Alison has a keen interest in chamber music. Recently, she performed in a chamber music masterclass given by Todd Phillips, playing Schumann’s Piano Quintet. Prior to her studies in the United States, Alison was a recipient of the Young Talent Scholarship (Music) at St. Paul’s Co-educational College. As a founding member of the SPCC String Quartet, she was chosen as one of RTHK Radio 4’s Young Music Makers and, with the quartet, toured the United Kingdom in the summer of 2015. 

Alison received her master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying under Steve Rose. She studied with Nicholas Mann at the Manhattan School of Music, where she received her bachelor’s degree. She had been a recipient of the Kraeuter Violin Scholarship and had led as concertmaster of the Manhattan School of Music Philharmonia Orchestra under conductor George Manahan in New York City.
