Greg Hamilton was appointed bass/section clarinet of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra by
music director Robert Spano in 2026. He previously held principal clarinet positions in the Lima
and Firelands symphony orchestras in Ohio and performed throughout the Midwest as a
freelance musician, most notably with The Cleveland Orchestra.

Raised in Athens, Georgia, Greg holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia
where he studied with D. Ray McClellan and attended the Cleveland Institute of Music for
graduate studies as a student of Afendi Yusuf. He is an alumnus of the Kent/Blossom Music
Festival and held a fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival and School for three summers where
he studied with Michael Rusinek and Joaquin Valdepeñas. His other major teachers include
Amy Zoloto, Franklin Cohen and Ralph Skiano.
