Born in Krakow, Poland, Camilla Wojciechowska studied music for 18 years before going professional. She studied five years at the Krakow Conservatory under Krzysztof Penderecki, and at the age of 13 won first place in the Wieniawski Violin Competition for Children. After coming to the United States in 1980, Camilla studied with Victor Aitay of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and was concertmistress of the Chicago Civic Orchestra from 1980-83. She has been a member of a number of prestigious orchestras, including the Krakow Philharmonic and the Polish Chamber Orchestra.
Camilla lives in Keller with her husband, Richard Cupryjak, and their daughter, Ilona, along with their parakeet, Kropka. She is quite the sportswoman, active in mountain climbing and hiking. Camilla also enjoys gardening, cooking, sewing and learning about medicine and psychology.
