Violinist Ahra Cho joined the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra as Associate Concertmaster in August 2026, following five seasons with the Omaha Symphony, where she served as Associate Concertmaster. She also served as a substitute musician with the New York Philharmonic. 

During her tenure with the Omaha Symphony, she was regularly featured as a soloist and chamber musician, appearing with the orchestra in works including Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Her performing experience spans orchestral, solo, and chamber music engagements throughout North America and Asia. In 2015, Ahra won the Mozart Classical String Competition in New York City, which served as a stepping stone to her U.S. debut with the Manhattan School of Music String Chamber Orchestra, where she performed Mozart’s Violin Concerto in D Major. She has received top prizes at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Young Artist Competition, the Duxbury Music Festival Concerto Competition, and the Chamber Music Competition. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in South Korea and the United States, including the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed at distinguished venues such as the Seoul Arts Center, Kumho Art Hall, and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. 

A native of Seoul, South Korea, Ahra began studying the violin at the age of four. At the age of ten, she began intensive studies in the Pre-College Division of the Korean National University of Arts and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree with honors from Seoul National University, where she studied under Ju-Young Baek. She then moved to the United States to pursue a Master of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music, where she studied under Lucie Robert. In 2019, she earned an Artist Diploma in Orchestral Performance on a full scholarship while studying with Glenn Dicterow and Lisa Kim. Notably, she was the first student in the 100-year history of the Manhattan School of Music to earn an Artist Diploma in its Orchestral Performance program. 

During the summer, she serves as Principal Second Violin of the Colorado Music Festival under Music Director Peter Oundjian, where she continues to perform a wide range of orchestral and chamber repertoire alongside distinguished musicians.
