Hey kids! Did you catch our mini Link Up concert yesterday? If so you may have recognized one of the songs we performed - Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” from his Ninth Symphony. This year we celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday and it’s a great time to learn a little more about this musical genius!

If you came to the “When Instruments Roamed the Earth” (formerly known as “Jurassic Parts”) family concert last year then you might recognize this guy: the Basstadon. There’s a very scientific theory that the double bass we know and love today is actually descended from the giant Double Basstadon. Our friends at The Welman Project are helping us again with today’s Lunchtime with MozArt activity. We’ll learn how rubber bands are a lot like strings on a string instrument and how sometimes you can actually see sound. You might want to move away from that white couch before you start though because it’s going to get a little messy! And remember you can turn your finished sound art into a card for a friend or simply hang it up to give your walls a symphony of color!
Teacher Appreciation Week is here and we want to show you how to craft your own envelope to send them a thank you note!
