Harris Han

Korean-American conductor, pianist, and violinist Harris Han currently serves as Assistant Conductor of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. In the past season, he served as Assistant Conductor with the Palm Beach Symphony, Professor of Conducting at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, Violinist with
the Florida Grand Opera, and Guest Artist at the Eastern Festival of Music where his duties included serving as Concertmaster for the Young Artists Orchestra and playing viola with the String Fellows Quartet in series and outreach concerts. In 2025, he won First Prize at the International Conducting Competition at the University of Almeria, Spain from which he won engagements in Romania, Italy, and Poland. He is also the recent winner of the Seoul Philharmonic Conducting Fellowship, leading the orchestra in Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra at Lotte Concert Hall upon the recommendation of Jaap van Zweden.

Equally versed in opera, he has served as Assistant Conductor of the San Francisco Opera and Opera Southwest. In past seasons, he has served as Assistant Conductor of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and cover conductor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Aspen Festival Orchestra. He was invited to the Bach and Beyond Baroque Music Festival in Fredonia, NY for several summers as harpsichordist and violinist and has received additional training via the Aspen Music Festival Conducting Academy, Riccardo Muti Opera Academy, George Enescu Conducting Masterclass, Pierre Monteux Festival and School, and Eastern Music Festival.

A trained pianist and violinist, Han has served on the collaborative piano staff at Cornell University, Ithaca College, and the University of Miami, and as a guest accompanist the University of Michigan and Florida International University. He has performed with the Symphony of the Americas, West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, where his duties included performing violin in the subscription series, one of the solo piano parts of Carnival of the Animals, Harpsichord continuo in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and Guest Principal Keyboardist. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano and Violin Performance the from Ithaca College School of Music and a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the Frost School of Music, University of Miami. His conducting mentors include Jaap van Zweden, Robert Spano, Gerard Schwarz, and Cristian Macelaru. Harris is the recipient of the 2025 and 2026 Career Assistance Award and 2026 Opera Residency from The Solti Foundation U.S.
