Sorin Guttman joined the viola section of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in 2002. In addition to the FWSO, Sorin has performed with the symphony orchestras of Allentown (PA), Haddonfield (NJ), Bay Atlantic (NJ), Lancaster (PA) and Bucks County (PA), as well as the Symphony of the Americas (FL), Florida Philharmonic, Ocean City Pops (NJ), Camerata Lysy (Gstaad, Switzerland) and the Orchestre Francaise des Jeunes (France). He has performed internationally in festivals and competitions and served as principal viola in the Romanian National Radio/Television Chamber Orchestra. He teaches both violin and viola lessons privately and participates in the Symphony League of Fort Worth's Docent education program, going into schools to perform and talk with the students.
He holds a bachelor's degree in music performance and education from the Bucharest Music Academy in Romania, and a master's degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. A native of Romania and the child of two pianists, he began his musical studies at age 6.
His other interests include computers and electric trains.
