Sean Patrick O’Hara

Sean Patrick O’Hara joined the Bass Section of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in August 2023. After starting lessons at age 15, Sean’s orchestral journey began as a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra in 2010. He has performed regularly with the San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Houston Symphony, and has appeared as Guest Principal Bass of the Oregon Symphony. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA, an Artist Diploma from Cal St. Fullerton and a Master’s Degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. His primary teachers are Chris Hanulik, Timothy Pitts and Brian Johnson. Some of his most cherished musical memories include Summers abroad performing with the Verbier Festival Orchestra and Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra. He has also attended the Aspen Music Festival and Tanglewood Music Center. He plays on a beautiful Ceruti-model bass made by Trevor Davis with a beautiful French bow made by Jordan Scapinello.

During his time away from the orchestra, Sean can be found at the movies or at the pub enjoying some traditional Irish music. In a 9-month stint away from music in 2021, he could be found proudly walking the streets of his hometown delivering mail for the U.S. Postal Service.
