Molly Norcross

On leave for 2019-20

Hailed by Alan Kozinn in the New York times as giving “a magnificent performance: precise, passionate, and supple”, horn player Molly Norcross joined the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra as Principal Horn in the fall of 2015. Previously she held the position of Third/Associate Principal Horn in the San Antonio Symphony for three seasons.

Ms. Norcross received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School, and pursued additional professional studies at the New England Conservatory, studying with William Purvis, Jennifer Montone and Richard Sebring, respectively. She has also performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Naples Philharmonic, and Richmond Symphony.

Ms. Norcross was a Fellow at the Music Academy of the West in 2008 and 2011, and at the Tanglewood Music Center in 2010 and 2012. As a soloist, she has performed with the Music Academy of the West Festival Orchestra, Juilliard Orchestra, and New Juilliard Ensemble.

Ms. Norcross has given numerous solo recitals in New York City, Boston, and Taipei, often incorporating works for the lesser known Wagner tuba and natural horn.
