Janine Stockdell Geisel has been with the FWSO since 1989. A native of Joliet, Illinois, she began playing the violin in fourth grade through Joliet's public school music programs. She graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy, after attending the high school for three years. She then studied with violin pedagogue Josef Gingold at Indiana University with whom she received her bachelor's and master's degrees in music performance.

Prior to joining the FWSO, she was a member of the Omaha Symphony and Northwest Chamber Orchestra. She has also performed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Wagner Festival, Dallas Ballet Orchestra, Dallas Opera Orchestra, Music in the Mountains Festival, Blossom Music Festival, Banff Chamber Music Festival and Hubbard Chamber Music Series.

Janine is married to violinist and violist John Geisel who recently retired from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.  They have a 28 year old daughter, Melissa.
