Cara Owens has been Assistant Principal/2nd Bassoon with the FWSO since 1997.  A native of Pennsylvania, Cara did her schooling in the Midwest — Indiana University and The University of Michigan. An advocate of music and health, Cara performs regularly in long-term health facilities in North Texas and Michigan.  She is also on the board of Spectrum Chamber Music Society.  Cara and her husband, Nate, live in Colleyville and have two college-aged daughters.  When not performing or practicing, Cara can usually be found on the tennis court.  Additionally, she loves to cook, read, and host friends/family at her lake house in Michigan.
